The RMS system is a powerful tool which automates and improves efficiencies, reduces errors and enables agencies to utilize personnel and information more effectively.
Designed in accordance with the statistical data requirements of the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program, the Records Management System expedites and streamlines virtually every aspect of incident reporting, incident tracking, crime analysis, case management and state reporting.
RMS is Windows-based and easy to learn and use. The system’s advanced search a capability, which includes SOUNDEX, allows authorized users to quickly and easily access data residing anywhere within the ATIMS network – regardless of the entry point. With the click of a button, an officer can associate a collision report to a CAD call, citation report, incident/case report or FIR. The officer can import data from one report to another, or generate a summary of any or all of the reports.

Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)
Begin managing resources and case data the moment your dispatch picks up a call. The CAD system combines Emergency 911, dispatching and data capture and management functions into one easy-to-use, rapid response system.
CAD automates many of the processes associated with dispatching, tracking and managing field resources and personnel. The system records time and date of the dispatch, names and ID numbers of personnel dispatched, actions taken and final disposition of the response. This information is managed to provide a consistent, responsive and reliable method for tracking units and call-for-service status at police, fire and emergency medical services centers. The indexed data also interfaces with the system-wide ATIMS database, which allows information collected during the CAD call to be viewed and utilized by users throughout the department, regardless of point of entry. This eliminates the need for double-entry and greatly improves data accuracy.
Features
- Function keys, command line codes or mouse inputs for similar actions
- Ability to assign multiple units per call and multiple calls to a single unit
- Custom screen layout/settings per user
- ESRI compliant
- Customized agency defined codes including 10-codes
- Ability to provide AVL, E911, and GEO coding
Field Reporting
The field reporting system is a subset of the RMS application that works independently of a database connection. Data is stored locally on any MDT terminal in an xml format. The structure and entry is ergonomically designed to work with a smaller resolution, providing the capability for a touch screen or approach. Once a connection is established within the MDT or via the network, the system delivers general searching capability with alert notification, criminal history, and photographs. Each generated incident file or supplemental can then be submitted for approval and imported to the DSSI RMS system.
Features
- Easy navigation
- Integrated MS Word narratives and form entry
- Complete sync with RMS drop down entries
- Threaded picture downloads. Does not interrupt the application while pictures are downloading
- Active workbasket, allows users to keep master names saved outside the incident report and download into any report for quicker entry
Property Room / Evidence Management System
Perhaps one of the most critical and challenging aspects of case management is the collection, documentation and management of physical evidence. Lost evidence or questions surrounding the chain-of-custody can jeopardize a conviction. Conversely, the ability to compile, compare and analyze evidence data swiftly can greatly enhance an agency’s ability to resolve cases.
DSSI’s Property/Evidence System utilizes proven software technology and a fully integrated barcode system which enables a department to receive, document, track, manage and secure evidentiary items from the point of collection through the final disposition of the item.
A simple point-and-click bar-code process eliminates errors associated with manually checking evidence in and out. The system automatically “marries” the evidentiary item to its location, or to the authorized personnel currently in possession of the item.
At any time, authorized personnel can locate physical evidence along the chain of custody, or view a chain of command history of the item. This information is secured and is not shared with other modules in the ATIMS system.
The Property/Evidence reporting and data capture software enables the user to produce a myriad of electronically generated reports. The system also facilitates uploading of photos of physical evidence. Documentation and data can then be integrated and shared along the DSSI ATIMs network.
Features
- Complete integration of workflow within RMS or as standalone evidence tracking module
- Auto generated item numbers and barcodes
- Complete audit and chain of custody trail
- Location and disposition management
